Wednesday, November 07, 2007

Ehhhhhh...'s gonna be one'a them days...just like it has been for months, now. Not a whole lot been on the go, hence my not writing anything in here for a while, it's hard enough to keep MYSELF entertained, let alone writing something down to entertain my adoring fans...

I'll keep you posted.

Well, it's been a long time coming, but we finally got us a full team of hands. The Company of Wilona's Sails has hired on it's first employees! I got contacted the other night by Brannah, an up-and-coming enchantress about possible times for interviews, and after talking things over with Apillini, we decided to cut to the chase and start them already! Turns out, though, that she didn't come alone! Brannah also brought along two other people who'd made a mention of interest in the Company some time ago: Enig and Aveline, an abjurer-fighter loveship of the oddest of sorts. Enig's a wizard of Mystra, and Aveline's a devout Helmite, which sounds like a strange pairing, to say the least, but it don't matter to me, not my business now, is it?

Anyway, we put the three of them through some tough interviews, Apillini and I. She of the sharp tongue softened them up, and I swept in to pour on the pressure! The lot of them did well, though, and Apillini and I were rather impressed, so we rewarded the three direct afterwards with their initiation into the Company.

I have since had a bad hangover, hence my lateness in putting quill to parchment to record this momentous event. Now to go back out and find that damn boat. Curse that Thiellik. How the Hells do you misplace a boat that many times!?

Been a while since I wrote anything down, but I got reasons for that! I can finally say that the Company of Wilona's Sails is up and fully operational! All our hard work and patience has paid off, and we now have our very own Headquarters! We have a home!

If that ain't enough, turns out that Thiellik isn't dead! He's come back not long after the completion of the headquarters and seems like the same brainless friend we thought we lost years ago!

We've currently been working on securing business deals with numerous companies, and have been looking into possible recruits for members of the Company, while I've personally taken an interest in Waukeen, the Lady of Trade, whose church funded the building of our headquarters in the first place. Just today, I was tasked by the Lady Herself to go and free a merchant's daughter from the evil grasp of the brood of goblins in the Howling Peaks! with the help of Silverstar Lunette Sandail, we easily dispatched all in our way and rescued the girl, getting her back to Waterdeep with little hassle. I'm resting as I write this, on my way to Zazzesspur again to meet with the Holycoin of the Church of Waukeen beside the Headquarters, to see if I can't learn some things about this Goddess of Money. Never thought I'd see the day where I'd find a Goddess of Money. My excitement builds.

Been travellin' the deserts looking for some decent coin to keep myself goin' while waiting for the Company to get all finished up. My trip to the Calim in the south was...interesting, to say the least. I met not only one, but three Talassans on the road to Calimport. Needless to say, they looked capable of breaking things, so I just slipped on the ol' Wyllium charm and played myself off as fairly harmless. One of them, a female half-devil or something, seemed to take an interest in me. This could turn into a lucrative opportunity if I play the cards properly. Best not to tell Apillini about it, though...

I just got word from Waterdeep the other day that the Lorekeeper of Oghma, Kladian Sandail, has passed away. Sad news, even though I never knew the Lorekeeper all that well. I knew his wife somewhat, one of the Silverstars, Lunette. She was always very nice and treated a fella with kindness. I send my condolences to her, as well as Kladian's sister, Tandria, a high mage of Mystra, whom I also have never really had a chance to get to know.

It's always hard when someone moves on, even if it's to a good end. Theillik's passing a few years ago was difficult for all of us, especially Apillini and me. He had travelled with us when all the others were settling down into their new lives. We weren't ready for that, so we kept on adventuring. We knew the risks. But as hard as it was to accept the loss of such a longtime friend, we all knew he would not want us to sit around crying about it, so we didn't.

I can only hope Lunette and Tandria are able to find the strength to move on, just like we did, and honor his memory in their living.

Construction is going great! I've just finished up the blueprints and designs for our Company's tavern and the garden path outside of it, and it's gonna be so lovely.

Apillini and I have taken a break and let the construction crews take care of things back in Zazzesspur for awhile, so that we could make a trip back out to the Deep. We'll need to get into the heart of the people to find good workers to fill the ranks of our Company once the headquarters is finally done. It seems, though, that we won't have an easy time of it. The little halfling brat Griggs Brierfeet, who -claims- to be a journalist, is spewing gossip about Apillini and trying to defame our reputation before we even have the Company fully operational! Didn't do him much good, though, as he simply got thrown in the brig by Deathlord Gwain, Sergeant in the Waterdeep City Watch.

Too bad all nuisances wouldn't get thrown in jail like that.
